HYPNOTHERAPY
is a natural, altered state, similar to daydreaming, that induces an extraordinary quality of mental, emotional and physical relaxation, accompanied by intensified focus and increased receptivity to positive suggestion.
EXPRESSIVE ARTS
is a holistic therapeutic process in which imagery, sound, and/or movement is used to access, release and transform emotions.
Both processes directly, easily and safely access the subconscious mind, which is the seat of memory and emotion, and the control center of the autonomic nervous system, which directs physical health and immunity. When used as an adjunct to healing, the emphasis is on accessing stressful or fear-producing emotions, releasing and transforming them in a way that activates the relaxation response. This leads to new insights, inner peace, and healing.
THE STRESS EQUATION:
unresolved, unexpressed stressful emotions + time = lowered immunity
= increased incidence of illness
(based on O. Carl Simonton, MD’s research using art and imagery in healing)
For the past thirty years, a field of science called psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) has studied the relationship between stress and the immune system. In a nutshell, our emotional response to difficult life situations causes our nervous systems to produce a cascade of stress chemicals that activate the stress or “fight or flight” response.
Researchers have concluded that over time, these stress hormones impact our immune systems in damaging ways that compromise health, resulting in increased illness, disease, and impaired healing.
CHANGE BELIEFS, CHANGE RESULTS!
Negative beliefs unconsciously formed around past experiences evoke emotions which drive present behavior patterns, often producing undesirable results accompanied by increased stress. When the emotion from past events is liberated and beliefs are processed in a positive way, new behaviors emerge that produce life-changing results.
As a result of the inner journey into the subconscious mind, we can connect with needs and desires that have gone unmet, discover strengths and assets that enable us to reach our life-purpose, and understand the lessons that our pain and trauma have to teach us. With this discovery, we can view our lives with the new perspective of knowledge and insight that brings forth forgiveness and healing of ourselves and others, realizing that our experiences, as painful as they may have been, have helped us to discover the person we really are.
By focusing on bringing positive, affirmative suggestions into the subconscious mind, the relaxation response is stimulated and sustained, enhancing health, immunity and well-being. Hypnosis and Expressive Arts are a safe, comfortable and direct way to make this transformative journey into the subconscious mind.

When your deep fear has found you,
A yellow sunflower will grow beside you on the dung heap
You will be astonished when it turns to face you
It will marvel as fire comes to eat out of your hand.
Moineddin Jablonski,
Sufi poet
My logo was inspired by this poem, and by my affection for the sunflower, a brilliant, sturdy, and hardy plant that turns its face to follow the sun across the sky. It grows eagerly in compost with minimal, regular tending, and yields abundant seeds for the future.
A perfect metaphor for soul work!
